Mr. Anthony Luigi Sutera, age 79, of Beaverton, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 in the Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton. Anthony grew up in Chicago, IL, and served in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1962. After moving to Alabama, he worked for VMC Trucking in Vernon as a truck driver and mechanic for many years.  

Mr. Sutera was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda J. Sutera, his parents, Phillip Sutera and Margaret Lazara Sutera, a daughter, Sharon Randolph, son, Phillip Stanford and a brother, Salvatore “Sam” Sutera.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Wheat of Beaverton, grandchildren, Sonia Hermance, Tina Martin, Ceaser Noriega, Louis Teel (Misty), Michelle Teel and Dawn Marie Diaz, great grandchildren, Joseph, Gisel, Christopher, Francesca and Nicole Diaz, Astin and Allison Teel, Brianna and Michal Cridell and a sister, Mary Hlodovchech of Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Sutera will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Beaverton Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time. Bowen Funeral home serving the Sutera family.
