Mr. James Scott Kelley, better known as Scott, age 73 of Winfield passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his residence. Scott was born on March 5, 1948 in Pickens County, Alabama to Henry and Mary Kelley. He attended Pickens County High School, and was employed with United Gas, Brilliant coal mines, co-owner of Winfield Sand & Gravel with Grice Webb and owner/ operator of Kelley Trucks & Equipment. Scott was a loving family man. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren fishing, watching his grandson play sports and being outdoors.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Beasley Kelley, his parents, Henry and Mary Sentell Kelley, and his father and mother in-law, David and Johnnie Sue Beasley.

He is survived by his three daughters, Amy Smith (David) of Berry, Beth Boyd (Wayne) of VA and Sherry Keeton of Winfield, grandchildren, Kelli Shealy (Jamie), Ben Evans, Hayden Dunn, Trace Deavours, Jackson Smith, his great granddaughter, Paige Shealy, step grandchildren, Austin, Triston (Briattany), McKenzie, and Allie Smith, step great grandchildren, Nova, Bentley, Easton and Addie Smith and a brother, David Kelley (Theresa) of Gordo, brothers -in-law, Greg Beasley (Patty) and Justin Beasley (Jing), and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Scott will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Housch Chapel Cemetery near Fayette. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Kelley family.
