Mr. William Edmond Posey, better known as Eddy, age 68 of Winfield passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Eddy was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 25, 1954 to Curtis Wilson Posey and Mary Rose Owsley Posey. Eddy was a 1973 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Heavy Duty Aftermarket Products from Northwood University. He was owner and operator of Winfield Truck Parts for over 20 years and currently service manager for Waters International. Eddy was a member and Deacon Emeritus at the Winfield First Baptist Church. He currently was serving on the Winfield City Council.
Eddy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debby of Winfield, his son, Nicholas, and his wife, Stacie, a grandson, Asher, a sister, Betty McIntosh and her husband, Bill, of Bossier City, Louisiana, a brother, C.W. Posey II “Junior” and his wife, Hilda, of Hoover, mother-in-law, Elease, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Wilson, Sr. and Mary Rose Owsley Posey.
Funeral services for Eddy will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial in the Griggs Place Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. service time at the church. Dr. Paul Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church Children’s Church Building Fund.
