Mr. Tony Ray Nix, age 60 of Winfield passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his residence.

Tony was born on September 26, 1960 to Ben and Sue Nix in Indiana. He attended Brilliant High School and worked for many years with the mobile home industry as a truck driver. Tony enjoyed being with his family, racing, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Beth” Nix, his children, Shawn Wood (Samatha), Jeremy Nix (Alicia), Tosha Nix (Justin), Brandon Nix (Veronica), Danielle Busby (Josh) and Dakota Nix (Ariel), grandchildren, Trenton, Abigail, Ricklyn, Hunter, Carrington, Kaidence, Charleigh, Tristin, Jaela, Caleb, Kathan, Jaxon, Kason, Remington, Avery, Wyatt, Ayden, Jordan, Conner, Dezzie, Taylor, Silas, Sophia, and Sayla, sisters, Vickie Earl (Johnny “Earl”), Pam Feltman (Billy), brothers, Scott Nix (Tina) and Gene Nix (Donna) a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Fosse, parents, Lawrence “Ben” and Vivian “Sue” Smith Nix, grandparents, James and Ivy Lee Nix, Vernon and Mary Webb, and a brother, Benjamin Nix.

Funeral services for Tony will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 6:00 p. m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Mr. James “Bob” Dodd, age 76 of Winfield passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Bob was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and a 1964 graduate of Winfield City High School. Mr. Dodd retired with Continental Conveyor and Equipment Co. after 40 years of service.

Mr. Dodd was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Dodd, parents, Dilton and Ethel McDonald Dodd, brothers-in-law, Doug Reese, Macky Tucker and Joe Dale Tucker. Bob is survived by his daughters, Jan Dodd, and Maggie Doles (Cody), grandchildren, Shawn Gilbert (Jenna), Allan Gilbert (Dannah), Sara Gilbert and Valarie Shirley (Hayes), great grandchildren, Bailee and Cohen Gilbert, Leyah Key, Kingston and Zandria McCollum, Jack and Olivia Shirley and baby Riggs Gilbert on the way, brothers, David Dodd (Sarah), Roger Dodd (Debbie), sisters-in-law, Dorothy Reese, Karen Matthews (Kent), brother-in-law, Eddie Tucker (Julie) and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bob will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Mrs. Arlene Butler Dodd, age 94 of Palm Coast, FL formerly of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by her husband, Linley Dodd, parents, John and Ruth Wylie Butler, sisters, Catherine Head, Pearlie Miller, Joyce Brown and Margie Bowen and a brother, Joe Butler.

She is survived by her daughter, Reba Zielinsky (John) of Palm Coast, FL, son, Robert Dodd of Utah, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, a brother Tom Butler of Winfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dodd will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (service time) at the funeral home.

Wanda Whitehead Goudeau, age 68 of Tuscaloosa, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at her residence.
Wanda was born in Winfield, AL on June 27, 1952 to I. J. & Edna Mae Whitehead. She was a 1970 Graduate of Winfield City High School. Wanda was employed in marketing with Beltone Hearing Aid company for over 25 years. She was a remarkable, strong, and caring lady. She enjoyed witnessing, ministering, and spreading the word of the Lord. Wanda loved her family, her friends, and all her “Loves”(her nieces and nephews).
Wanda is survived by her father, I. J. Whitehead and a sister, Pat Trull, her loves, William Trull (Katie), Meredith Green (Chad), Crystal Shirey (Oliver), Taylor Whitehead, Jayson Whitehead, Kaley Trull, Elayna Trull, Carmen Trull, Ethan Green (Erica), Abby Green Bates (James), Noah Green (Corinne), Isabella Green, Lilah Green, Noah Shirey and Charlie Shirey and a host of beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Turner Whitehead, sisters, Lela Whitehead and Vanessa Whitehead, brother, Dennis Whitehead and a special brother-in-law, Ken Trull.
