Mr. James Richard “Richie” Pollock age 56 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday May 31, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Pollock was born on October 4, 1964, in Fayette, Alabama to Ulmer Gene Pollock and Mary Lee Nix Pollock.

Mr. Pollock is survived by his two daughters, Ashley Roland (Brien Sudduth), and Tiffany Pollock (Jacob Mansell) both of Winfield, one grandson, Lee Roland of Winfield, one sister, April Homer of Mississippi, one brother, Earl Pollock, of Hamilton, and his girlfriend, Jen Joseph.

Mr. Pollock was preceded in death by his parents, Ulmer Gene Pollock and Mary Lee Nix, his wife Mechelle Taylor Pollock, two brothers, Edward Pollock, and Jessie Pollock, a grandson, Jalex Mansell, a son in law Cameron Roland, and a half sister, Mary Maxine Pollock.

Visitation for Mr. Pollock will be held on Wednesday June 2, 2021, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held on Thursday June 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home, with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Winfield.

Mrs. Charlotte DeLynn Lee Webster, age 72, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, in the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Mrs. Webster was born in Winfield, Alabama on March 4, 1949, to DeLynn “Fox” and Eunice Lee.

She was a 1967 graduate of Winfield City High School and a long-time member of Faith Fellowship Church in Winfield. Charlotte was a talented artist, painter, singer, and baker, she was most proud of her work she done for the Lord. Mrs. Webster taught Wednesday night children’s class for 20 years, was Nursery Director and wrote the Christmas plays for Faith Fellowship Church over the past years. She was Youth Choir Director at White Springs Methodist Church, a member of Sweet Adelines and was in a Christian trio group with Randy Bonds and Joan Ballard, owned and operated her own cupcake shop, “Cupcake Cutie” and was employed with Oden-Shirey Drug Co. and Webb Insurance for many years.

Mrs. Webster is preceded in death by her parents, DeLynn “Fox Lee and Eunice Dickinson Lee, her husband, Richard “Ricky” Webster, father and mother in-law, Ed and Jewel Webster and a nephew, Chad Webster.

She is survived by her daughter, Kacy Pickins (Joey) of Florence, son, Tyler Webster and Courtney her children, Mason and Kylie of Winfield, granddaughter, Kilee, sister-in-law, Wanda Bly, special friend, Tia Doss (Daniel) and their children, Hayden and Ryley, grand pups, Clementine, Caroline, Charlee, Lettie and Curtis, honorary sisters, Gail Creech, Sandra Saylor, Tracy Huguley, honorary daughter, Alicia Lann, and honorary grandchildren, J. Seymour, Nathan Huguley, Madison Weathers, Oliva Brown, Avery Hooper, Brenna Locklear, Tori Walls, Chaz Creech, Tiffney Sullivan, a host of other family, church family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Webster will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. from the Faith Fellowship Church in Winfield with burial to follow in the Whites Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. service time at the church.

 

Ms. Virgie Lea McMillan, age 87 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. Ms. McMillan was born in Glen Allen, Alabama on August 26, 1933, to Emit & Sarah Robertson. She was a beloved wife and homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a longtime member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church. Ms. McMillan was preceded in death by her parents Emit Robertson and Sarah Elizabeth Graham Robertson, her husband Hoyt McMillan, sister Nell Howton, brothers Daniel Robertson, Waldon Robertson, and Curtis Robertson. She is survived by her daughter Ann Box (Roger) of Winfield, granddaughters Amberly Cicero (Jason) of Clifton, Virginia, Adrian Box of Winfield, Allyn Box of Winfield, and great-grandchildren Sarah Cicero Campbell (Matt) of Auburn, Nathan Cicero of Auburn, Abby Grace Cicero of Clifton, Virginia, Chance Concord of Winfield, and a sister Eloise Duckworth of Fayette. Funeral services for Ms. McMillan will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home serving the McMillian family.

Mr. Bruce Edward Channell, age 60, of Winfield formerly of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at his residence. Bruce was born in Aurora, IL on December 7, 1960, to Wayne and Shelby Channell. Bruce was a member of Grace Life Church in Winfield. He was employed with the Guin Housing Authority in the maintenance department for many years. Mr. Channell loved spending time with his family and his favorite pastime of Drag Racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Early Wayne Channell and Shelby Jean McIntosh Bates, stepfather, Douglas Jackson “Jack” Bates, an infant daughter, Katie Dawn Channell and three brothers, Joe, Alan, and Bart Ray Channell. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sprinkle Channell, sons, Bryan Bates, and Douglas Channell (Jennifer), daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Parr (Lee), stepdaughters, Melissa Tucker (Landy), Amanda “Sissy” Robertson (Jonathan), and Crystal Lawler (Matthew), brother, David Channell (Shirley), sisters, Pam Gardner (Michael) and Beverly Markle, stepbrothers, Rick and Roger Bates and a stepsister, Donna Bates Burgess, 14 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bruce will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Brother Odie Billups will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
