Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ann Niday, age 79 of Guin, AL went home to our Lord and Savior after passing away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Kelly (Jerry) Mills, of Southside, AL on May 14, 2021. Mrs. Niday was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Helen Zuber, of Dubuque, Iowa, her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Niday, and her daughter, Shannon Michelle Niday. Mrs. Niday moved from Dubuque, Iowa to Winfield, Alabama in 1978. She was an avid seamstress, artist, baker, and enjoyed her front porch flowers. She found great joy in her great grandchildren, Jackson and Parker Brown and Charlee Mills Ellis. Over the past few months, Mrs. Niday has battled Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Lewy Body Dementia with great bravery and the utmost grace. Mrs. Niday is survived by her devoted caregivers, Kelly and Jerry Mills, and special granddaughters, Bailee Mills-Ellis (Gavin) and Christy Niday-Brown (Joe). Also, survived by son, Mark (Debbie) Niday, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of special cousins, and special friend, Alice Hoth. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and a special thank you for the many prayers, cards, and phone calls from family and friends.

Mr. Larry Thomas “Smoothie” Norris, age 77 of Winfield passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Mr. Norris was born in Bazemore, Alabama on March 15, 1944 to Raymond and Helen Norris. He was a 1962 graduate of Winfield City High School and a member of the White Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Norris spent his life working as an iron worker and welder.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wright Norris, two sons, Tommy (Sarah) Norris of Winfield, and Ted (Chandra) Norris of Winfield, a daughter, Terri (Mickey) Bozeman of Winfield, grandchildren, Emily Williams, Isaac Norris, Alley O’Mary, Haley Norris, Hayden Norris, Wally Evans, and Tony Evans, three sisters, Sharon (Tim) Morgan, Teresa Stanford, and Tammy (Rob) Bolton, one brother, Ronnie (Lisa) Estes, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Norris, and Helen Harris Norris Estes, his stepfather, Reau Estes, and his brother, Phillip Norris.
Funeral services for Mr. Norris will be held at Bowen Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday May 16, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (service time) on Sunday. Burial will follow in the Norris family plot near their home.

Mr. Harold David Crowe, age 83 of Guin passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center.
 
Mr. Crowe was born on July 6, 1937 to Dave and Gertie Crowe. He was a member of the Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church, a 1956 graduate of Marion County High School, and a graduate of Gradwohl School of Medical Laboratory Technique in St. Louis, MO. He was employed as a Lab Tech and X-Ray Tech for many years in several area hospitals. Mr. Crowe was ordained as a deacon at Freewater Freewill Baptist Church. Harold was an active member of the Gideon’s International and the Winfield Masonic Lodge # 304. Harold was a Christian, loving, generous, and caring man. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved and expressing his God given talent on the guitar.
 
Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Crowe and Gertie Stowe Crowe, a wife, Natha May Crowe, sister, Mary Lou Leihsing, and three brothers, Dewitt, Eual, and Hayward Crowe. He is survived by his wife, Maerene Morrow Crowe, children, Harold David Crowe, Jr. (Kathey) of Nashville, TN, Michael Glenn Crowe (Doris) of Sandy Hollow in Guin, and, Renae Crowe Webb (Stanley) of Guin, grandchildren, Nicole Hackett, Ryan Crowe, Paul Crowe, David Crowe, Jade Tucker, Dustin Webb, Heath Webb, Hope Traweek and Davin Webb, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, a brother, Jimmy Crowe of Northport and sisters, Ruby Sue Harbin of Winfield and Carol Williams of Hamilton.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Crowe will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from the Webb Cemetery. Mr. Jerry Donald Faucett, age 79 of Brilliant passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Walker Rehabilitation Center in Carbon Hill. Jerry was born on May 27, 1941 in Brilliant, Alabama. He attended Brilliant High School and proudly supported the Brilliant Fire Department, Brilliant High School and the Historical Endeavors for Brilliant. Jerry moved to Michigan in 1970 and worked for Grand Truck Railroad as an equipment operator for over 28 years; after his retirement he returned home to Brilliant.  Jerry was a big man with a gruff voice; but those who took the time to get past the exterior, found a sweet, caring, giving and Christian man and friend.

Mr. Faucett was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Margrette Doss Faucett, wife, Shirley Faucett, sister, Christine Faucett Spears, three brothers, Lloyd, James Harold, and Eugene Faucett and two stepdaughters, Debbie Gray and Janet Gray.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Mote (Mark), Karen Wezell (Richard), grandchildren, Michael and Bryan Mote, Jennifer Pugh, Angie Soper (Zachariah Hemmings), Mandi Montoya (Emmanuel) and Brandi Wezell (Kaleb Roll), great grandchildren, Emma, Ellie, Zoey, Audrey, Lucia, Amara, Mateo, and Mariana, stepchildren, Vicki Gray, Cathy Marks (Fred), Dennis Gray and many step grandchildren and great great grandchildren, his special friend, Linda Bell and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Faucett will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
