Mrs. Audie Vee Phillips Langley, age 86 of the Gum Thicket Community, passed away early Monday morning October 19, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Langley was born on December 14, 1933 to George and Dora Phillips. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In 1961 she married the love of her life, Andrew Langley and together they created a family complete with a son George, and a daughter Ginger. They established a home based on their faith and raised their children together. Audie and Andrew were married for 56 years until the passing of Andrew in November 2017. Mrs. Langley was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Her family never had to wonder what was on her mind, she would cry and laugh with them and give them her 3 cents worth. Audie enjoyed working in her flower garden and vegetable garden and canning the fruits and vegetables of her labor. She loved to bake and try new recipes, but always stuck with peas and taters. She never shied away from hard work. She was a wife, mother, homemaker and sewing machine operator at Munsingwear and Ezreltec Manufacturing. After retirement she would follow her husband and was always helping him until her battle with cancer. Audie won the battle and has been a fighter through ever illness since. Though her passing will leave a void in the lives of her loving family, the lessons she taught and the memories left will always be with them. The loss of a mother and mamaw can never be replaced but the love of a mother and mamaw can never be lost.

She has rejoined her husband, William Andrew Langley, her parents, George Willis Phillips and Dora Elizabeth Franks Phillips, three sisters, Stella Martin, Mary Miller and Myrtle Strohn, three brothers, Thomas, James and Ed Phillips, and three infant siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, George Langley, daughter, Ginger Langley Barnett (Phillip), grandchildren, Jennifer Woods, Drew Hunsinger (Kayla), Levi Hunsinger (Whitney), Ashley Symonds (Jared), Amber Spann (Ryan), great grandchildren, Hannah, Oakley, Peyson, Stran, Blaylon, Nash, TJ, Katie and Darleigh, and a host of special nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.
