Mrs. Doris Leona “Dot” Eads Johnson, age 75, was received into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 25, 2018 after an extended illness. Dot will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, but we rejoice that she is at home in Heaven and completely healed.

Dot loved making people feel welcome, she enjoyed company and inviting friends and family into her beautifully decorated home. She taught Sunday school at her church for many years always focusing on children and young people. In her later years, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom were the joy of her life.

Mrs. Johnson was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed being a housewife and raising her two wonderful children with her husband. She entered the workforce at Brilliant Bank in 1971 and retired from Listerhill Credit Union in 2005. She began Listerhill Credit Union with one typewriter, one desk, one chair, one file cabinet, and the determination to make this business a success. Dot delighted in getting to know her members, their families, and sharing in the joys, successes, and sorrows of each. She always remembered the names and faces of her members, and she was always glad to catch up with them any time she could.  

Dot is survived by her husband of 57 years, Albert “Joe” Johnson, who has been a rock of love and support. Joe never gave up hope that Dot would get better, he encouraged her every day. She is also survived by her children, Stan Johnson (Connie) of Guin, Lee Ann Bozeman (Sandy) of Lincolnton, NC, grandchildren, Bethany Hightower (Mark) of Guin, Ben Johnson (Melanie Abbott) of Guin, Brianna Taylor (Zach) of Las Vegas, NV, Timothy Bozeman of Lincolnton, NC, great-grandchildren, Hayden and Hudson Hightower of Guin, sister, Cora Lee Weeks of Winfield, sister in law Lillian Eads of Adger, Margaret Stone of Moody, Francis Johnson of Winfield, Patsy Johnson of Winfield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Flora Couch Eads, brothers, L.G. Eads, Ellis Eads, Doyle Eads. J.D. Eads, and a grandson, Jake Johnson.

A service of joy and celebration will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. from the Bowen funeral home chapel. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Mr. Truman “Mike” Spann, age 72, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence. Mike was a 1965 Graduate of Hubbertville High School and owner/operator of Hilltop grocery store and service station until his retirement. Mike was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Jannette Aldridge Spann, children, Stacy Feltman (Ronnie) and Greg Spann (Christy), grandchildren, Chris Brasseal (Jessica), Logan Feltman, Wyatt Spann, all of Winfield and Samantha Brasseal of Tuscaloosa, a great-granddaughter, Adalyn Brasseal of Winfield, brothers and sisters, Harold Spann of Winfield, Dale Spann (Bennie Lou) of Midlothain, VA, Judy Norris (Jerry) Winfield, Shelia Gann (Joe) of Winfield, Steve Spann (Janet) of Winfield and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Burney Lee Spann and Victoria Webb Spann, sisters, Annie Lee Bean, Edna Powell, Faye Spann, Jane Webster, brothers, Marshall Spann, Everette Fowler, Edward Fowler, and Dwight Spann. Funeral services for Mike will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Eastside Baptist Church in Winfield at 2:00 p.m. Brother Camron Jungles will be the officiating minister. Mr. James Hilton Robison better known as Hilton, age 76, of Guin, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham. Mr. Robison retired from Continental Conveyor Company after 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lora Ann Robison, daughter, Lawanna Perry (Tommy), granddaughter, Tiffany Perry, brothers, Nathan Robison and Gary Robison (Shirley) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Mr. Robison was preceded in death by a daughter, Jammie Leigh Robison, his parents, Johnnie Marcus Robison and Eula Lee Pugh Robison, brothers, Basil M. and Major Lee Robison and a sister in law, Joanne Robison. Funeral services for Mr. Robison will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery near Crews, AL. Mr. Coley Ray Hughes, age 74 of Winfield, passed away, Tuesday October 16, 2018 in the Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. Coley was a graduate of Winfield City High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, and retired from Continental Conveyor & Equipment Co with over 40 Years of service.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Hughes, parents, Fletcher Hughes and Lenora Robinson Hughes and his brother, Sherman Hughes. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Hughes of Winfield, son, Scott Hughes (Sarah) of Homewood, grandchildren, Austin Swanigan, Alyssa Swanigan, Evie Hughes and David Hughes, brother, Herman Hughes (Mary Frances) of Winfield and a sister in law, Betty Hughes of Beaverton.

Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held on Saturday October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Willing cemetery. Visitation will be Friday October 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Michael Jackson will be the officiating minister.
