Mr. Herbert Harold West Sr., better known as “Harold’, age 79 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Houston West and Patsy Bonds West. Mr. West was born in Jasper, AL, and has been a lifelong resident of Winfield. He was a 1956 graduate of Winfield City High School, and a 1960 graduate of the University of Alabama. His father started in the gas business as a Gulf Oil Distributor in 1934 and continued to work with Harold until 1985. Harold was first a Gulf Oil Jobber, then with BP, Citgo and Chevron. He served on the Presidential Advisory Board for Citgo for several years. He was also involved with the GOWMA (Gulf Oil Wholesale Marketers Association) for many years, serving as president for three years. Mr. West served on the Alabama Battleship Commission for eight years and was currently serving on the Winfield State Bank and Trust Board of Directors. Harold was a member of Delta Chi fraternity, the Winfield Lions Club and the Winfield Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Wilson West, a son, Herbert Harold West Jr. “Hal”, (Kay) of Birmingham, daughters, Mitzi Carole West, (Forrest Johnston) of Winfield, and Allyson West Sutter (Dan) of Tuscaloosa, grandchildren, Katherine Edwards West, Margaret West Casey (Ryan), Hallie Elizabeth West, William Huston West, and Andrew West Sutter, a brother, William Riley “Bill” West (Linda) of Fairhope, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from the Winfield First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Brother Earl Freeman will officiate. The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Winfield First United Methodist Church or to the Northwest Alabama Kidney Foundation at State Bank and Trust. Mrs.Earline Spiers Fenimore, age 89, of Denver, CO formerly of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Garden Terrace Nursing Facility in Aurora, CO. Mrs. Fenimore is survived by her children, Carol Fenimore of Denver, CO, June Fenimore of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Fenimore (Teri) of Utah and Robert Fenimore of New Orleans, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Ollie Belle Jackson Spiers, husband, Andrew “OD” Fenimore and son, Roy A. Fenimore. A grave side service for Mrs. Fenimore will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. from the Winfield City Cemetery. Sister Sissy Sullins will officiate. Mrs. Joy Leann Stocks Dickinson, age 54, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at her residence. Joy was a 1982 graduate of Moline High School in Moline, Illinois. Joy was a Doctors Assistant for Dr. William Lenahan for over 28 years. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Roger Dickinson, son, Aaron Dickinson (Whittney), granddaughter, Kendall Dickinson, and mother, Rachel Stocks, all of Winfield, sisters in law, Shirley Sparks of Moline, IL, Brenda Woodruff of Milan, IL, Sally Hines (Ron) of Milan, IL, Elke Clarke (Larry) of Milan, IL, cousins, Debbie Slater (Jack) and Carol Perez (John) both of Moline, IL, and her “best friend” pet Shelton, who continually provided emotional support for Joy.  She is preceded in death by her father, William Stocks and an infant brother, Paul Ray Stocks. Funeral services for Mrs. Dickinson will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 10, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Eddie Ayers will serve as officiating minister.

Mrs. Virginia Ann Herren age 66, of Gulf Shores formerly of Twin Community, passed away at her residence in Gulf Shores. Ann was a 1970 Hubbertville High School graduate and worked in the nursing field as an LPN for over 30 years. Mrs. Herren is survived by her daughter, Miranda Wilborn (Art) of Cabot, AR., grandchildren, Emma Marie, Lily Anne and Kate Alise, brother, Rick Flanagan (Shelia) of Brilliant. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William Hubbert and Elsie McDuff Flanagan, husband, Ronald Larry Herren and a brother, Jimmy Flanagan. A memorial service for Mrs. Herren will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bowen Funeral Home the family will receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (service time).
