Angela Denise Burleson, age 52 of Guin, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at her residence.

Angela was a Church of Christ member, a 1986 graduate of Brilliant High School. She attended Bevill State Community College in Hamilton and worked with North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. C. Burleson and Maylene Gilbert Burleson. Angela is survived by her sister, Shelia Burleson and Martha Henson Burleson both of Guin, her brothers, James Allen Burleson (Cathy), Wayne Burleson, Dan Burleson, Greg Burleson (Sonja) and a special cousin, Paula Grant and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Angela will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brock Church of Christ Cemetery. Mr. David Larry Harkness, better known as Larry, age 66, of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Larry was born in 1954 to Boss and Lorene Johnson Harkness in Winfield, AL. He attended Winfield City School where he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Susan, they were married in 1972. In 1973 they welcomed their first daughter, Stephanie, in 1977 they welcomed their second daughter, Tiffany. Larry served in the Alabama National Guard for 19 years and retired form NTN Bower after 25 years. In 1995 he became a licensed minister and was ordained for the work in 1996.  He was co-founder of the Walker County Disaster Team and worked at ground zero during 9/11 and always assisted during other natural disasters. Larry served as camp director at the Walker Baptist Campground in Nauvoo for 7 years and was Community Church Minister for Walker County Baptist Association for 16 years. The last 6 years Larry served as Pastor of Sand Springs Baptist Church. He was always eager to help in times of need, always a servant of the Lord, preaching and spreading the gospel and telling others about Jesus Christ.

Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Barnes Harkness, daughters, Stephanie Price and Tiffany Harkness, brothers, Jerry Harkness (Debbie) of Montgomery and Barry Harkness (Pam) of Kentucky, a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, church family and friends, and special close friends, Bill and Sue Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boss and Lorene Harkness, a brother, Tony Harkness, and his father and mother in-law, Guy and Ruby Barnes.

Funeral services for Larry will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Mr. Donald Ray Smith, age 63 of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mr. Smith was a retired truckdriver and loved spending time with his family, playing the guitar, fishing and Alabama Football.

Donald is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melissa Peterson Smith, two daughters, Amy Nichol (Matt) and Sandy Rich (Kevin), grandchildren, D.J. Pitts (Crimson), Dalton Robison (Nicole), Robert Pitts (Carolyn), Keyla Rich (Travis Thompson) and Kevin Alex Rich, great grandchildren, Addy and Everlgh Robison, a sister, Ann Willcutt and a brother, Ronnie Smith (Janet), a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Leona Estes Smith, a sister, Rose Mary Smith and brother-in-law, Whitey Willcutt.

A funeral service for Mr. Smith will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. A private burial will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2020 in the Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Darrell Thomas Yaden, Sr., age 60 of Guin, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Yaden was a 1979 graduate of Marion County High School and a retired truckdriver. Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, grilling and riding his lawnmower cutting grass.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Yaden, his daughters, Lisa Walker (Rodney), Emily Cooper (Robbie), Tiffany Warren (Daniel), sons, Darrell Yaden, Jr., David Yaden, Josh Coats (Kacie) and Jonathan Johnson, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, a sister, Lori Upton (Kenneth) and two brothers, Tim Yaden (Sheila) and Rodney Yaden. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Betty Mobley Simmons and a wife, Glenda Yaden.

Funeral services for Darrell will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Griggs Place Cemetery.
