Mr. James Ray Crews, age 77 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
Mr. Crews was born in Fayette County Alabama on March 22, 1943 to Grady and Audie Crews. He was known for being a water finder and well digger. He enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his family and friends.
James is survived by his brother, George Crews (Linda) and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Crews and Audie Flyne Crews.
The funeral service for Mr. Crews will be held on Saturday 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Willing Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the church.
Mrs. Pauline “Pat” Stocks, age 86 of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Stocks was born in Mississippi on June 27, 1934 to Barthonie and Lonie Taylor. Pat was a member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church and a was a devoted Christion, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Stocks was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Thomas M. Stocks, a great grandson, Alexander Locke, her parents, Barthonie Taylor and Lonie Hughley Taylor, three sisters, Nellie Rhudy, Nettie Gunnels, Bessie Lou White, and five brothers, Olie, Ardell, Newton, Jerome and Odell Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Stocks (Joyce) of Winfield and Jeffery Stocks (Della) of Goldsboro, NC, her grandchildren, Anthony Stocks (Mackenzie), Amy Locke (Chad), Allison Bowen, Lance Eaves, Whitney Harris, Brittany Boykin, Lauren Rouse (Brandon), Taylor Stocks (Katelyn) and Hannah Stocks, two brothers, Arlin and Jimmy Taylor, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and church family and friends.
A funeral service for Pat will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Taylor Stocks, Brother Kent Nelson and Brother Charles Lynn will officiate the service. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Ada Diane Justice, age 64 of the Hubbertville community, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her residence. Diane was a faithful member of the North Pointe Church of God of Prophecy in Fayette, AL and very involved with the Hubbertville Lion Pride Marching Band. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Fred Youngblood. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Cox Youngblood of Hubbertville, daughters, Misty Braswell of GA, Crystal Justice of GA and Kathy Justice of IL, son, Jarvez Justice, of Hubbertville, grandchildren, Mariah, Keyla, Martel, Sydney and Javon, a sister, Betty Boundy (Douglas) of IL, brother, Ron Freeman (Bunny) of TX, and a host of other family, church family and friends.
A memorial service for Diane will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the North Pointe Church of God of Prophecy in Fayette, AL. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Justice family.
