Mr. Clarence Alton Watley, age 92, of Pell City formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Brookwood Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Watley served in the United States Air Force from 1945 until 1968, he retired from the Air Force as E9 Cheif Master Sargent before his employment as an electronics instructor for Macon Technical College in Macon, GA. He was later employed with the Civil Service as GS12 from 1973 until his retirement in 1986.


He is survived by his children, Don Watley (Sharon) of Pell City, and Kathy Watley of Tampa, FL, his grandchildren, Aaron Lloyd (Olivia), Shae White (Chris), Jarod Lloyd (Natalie), Josh Grimes (Sherry), Blake Lloyd (Kelly), and Jason Grimes, great grandchildren, Makena, Kaylan, Jena, Ella Grace, Carter, Harley, Anniston, Christian, Brittany and Austin. Mr. Watley was preceded in death by his parents, Logan Virgil Watley and Ollie Schrimsher Watley, wife, Mary Berryhill Watley, two sisters, and five brothers.
Funeral service for Mr. Watley will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Boston Cemetery near Brilliant. Greg Lowery will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Mrs. Linda Kay Bostick, better known as Kay, age 53, of Glen Allen, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her residence.

Kay is survived by her husband, Jimmy “Bo” Bostick, her children, Jason Bostick (Courtney) of Winfield, Brandy Manasco (Brandon) of Winfield, and Melissa Bostick of Tuscaloosa, mother, Mildred Stough of Winfield, grandchildren, Katie Beth, Lee Ann and Jessie Manasco, Holden Bostick, Ashley and Alyssa Bostick, DellaVonte King, and Jhayden Isaiah on the way, and a sister, Donna Coleman, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The funeral service for Kay will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Brother Delton Harrison and Brother Mark Moore will be the officiating ministers. Dr. David Allen Justice, M.D., age 80, of Winfield, formerly of Heflin, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Dr. Justice was born October 7, 1939, to Walters Tillman Justice and Virginia Lindstrand Justice in Oak Park, IL. Dr. Justice attended Stephens County High School in Toccoa, GA after graduation, he attended Berry College in Rome, GA and Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, GA earning his medical degree.

Dr. Justice is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nevelyn Cook Justice, his children, Jennifer Anne Justice of Ukiah, CA and Mark Andrew Justice of Winfield, AL, sisters, Karen Swanson (Bill) of Lanesboro, MN, and Carole Justice (John), his brothers, Thomas Justice (Mariam) of Pasadena, CA , Richard Justice, Park Ridge, IL and Larry Justice of Chicago, IL, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Virginia Justice, and his brothers, John and Robert T. Justice.

Funeral services for Dr. Justice will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.

Mr. Freddy Harold Hickman, age 75, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his residence. Freddy served in the United States Navy and retired from Witichen Supply in Birmingham.

Freddy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Evans Hickman, his grandchildren, Crystal Marbrey (Thomas) of Newburn, TN, Kara Campbell (Derek) of Ridgely, TN, and Eric Campbell of Halls, TN, great grandchildren, Riker and Mason Campbell, sisters, Ruby Burnice Farris (Jimmy), Reba Marguerita Alexander (Bob), Paulette Gann (Snook), Jackie Hollingsworth (Dale), Mary Kay Webster (Don) of Guin-Win, brothers, Kenneth “Billie Joe” Hickman (Linda) and Roger Dale Hickman (Cathy), brothers in law, Eddie Evans (Diane) and Ray Evans (Melanie) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Isaac Hickman and Mary Margaret Miles Hickman, his daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Campbell, brothers, Johnnie Hickman and Donald Hickman, sisters in law, Betty Hickman, Carolyn Hickman, and Louise Evans, and a brother in law, Edward Evans.

A memorial service for Freddy will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.
