Mrs. Vella Dean Dickinson, age 93, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 in the Cordova Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordova.  She was born on October 17, 1925 to Harvey and Icie Bell Honnicutt Crowley.

Mrs. Dickinson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, R. D. Dickinson, sisters, Ludell Gibson, Lucille Collins, Louenge Turner and Nola Sansing, brothers, Houston, Huie, Ed and John Crowley. She is survived by her sons, Harold Dickinson (Melinda) of Birmingham and Kenneth Dickinson (Deborah) of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Kim Miller (Danny) of Austin, TX, Allison Wilson (Shayne) of Houston, TX, and Kevin Dickinson (Holly) of TN, great grandchildren, Shelby Miller, Josh Miller, Bryan Wilson and Taylor Wilson, and two sisters, Earline Robinson of Fayette and Betty Gilliam of Kennedy

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Orbie Pearce and Phillip Miles will be the officiating ministers. The visitation will be on Monday, September 2, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Mrs. Patsy Beasley Kelley, age 69, of Winfield, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Hospice of West AL in Tuscaloosa.

Patsy was a 1967 graduate of Winfield City High School. She later earned her degree in Cosmetology and was owner/operator of “Patsy’s Salon” for over 40 years.

Mrs. Kelley is survived by her husband of 51 years, Scott Kelley, her father, Chuck Beasley of Winfield, daughters, Beth Boyd (Wayne) of Louisa, VA, Amy Smith (David) of Berry and Sherry Keeton of Winfield, grandchildren, Kelli Shealy, Ben Evans, Trace Deavours, Hayden Dunn, Jackson Smith, and a great granddaughter, Paige Shealy, brothers, Justin Beasley (Jing) of Winfield, Greg Beasley (Patty) of Winfield, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Sue Harkness Beasley.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Housch Chapel Cemetery near Fayette. The visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Brother Venlon Bradford will be the officiating minister. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Kelley family.

Mr. Clayton Wade Zuber, age 53, of Winfield, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 in the UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.

Clayton was born on January 9, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA to Cecil Zuber and Dorothy Tarwater Zuber.  He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Zuber of Winfield, daughter, Sabrina Zuber of Winfield, step son, Justin Hill, of Double Springs, sisters, Elizabeth McDonald (Robert) of Grand Prairie, TX, Lorie Ann Philippi of Alverado, TX, Cindy Tipper of Haleyville and Donna Bircheat (Gary) of Sulligent, brothers, Charles Zuber of Winfield, Clifford Zuber (Kathy) of Arlington, TX, Curtis Zuber of Guin, and Carl Zuber of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Funeral services for Clayton will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Zuber family.

Ms. Nixola Ann “Niki” Barnes, age 75, of Winfield passed away, Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence.   Niki was born to Elbert and Icie Gann Franks on January 17, 1944. Ms. Barnes was a member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church, a 1962 Alumni of Winfield City High School and was employed by the Winfield City School System as middle school secretary for many years. She enjoyed working in her yard and game night with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Myla Byars (Brian) of Winfield and Abra Wallis (Justin) of Moody, two grandsons, Ty Garrison and Eli Wallis, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Franks and Icie Gann Franks, and two brothers, Edsil and Wyman Franks.

Funeral services for Niki will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Williams, Bro. Kent Nelson and Bro. Danny Williams will be the officiating ministers. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (service time) at the church.
