Mrs. Mary Evelyn McDonald Markham, age 76 of Tuscaloosa formerly of Guin passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. Mrs. Markham was born on June 16, 1945 to Andrew Jackson “Jack” McDonald and Essie Mae Guin McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Sammie Lee Roberts, Eloise Norris, Sudie Trull, Ruby May, Kathleen Garrison, Julia Faye Greenlee, and Jettie Gail Whitley, her brothers, Clarence, Shaffer, Louie, Wallace, and Charles McDonald. Mrs. Markham is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wilburn Markham, her daughters, Tonya (Chad) Barker of Arley, AL, and Crystal Bellamy of Norfolk, VA, her grandchildren, Dylan and Haley Grace Barker of Tuscaloosa, and Jackson Bellamy of Norfolk, VA, her brother, James “Jimmy” McDonald (Jean) of Fulton, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear family and many friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Markham will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Malloy/McDonald family cemetery near Wayside. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Lloyd Morgan Scott, age 60 of Winfield formerly of Trafford, AL passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Mr. Scott was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 1, 1961 to Carlos and Frances McGill Scott. He was a graduate of Inglenook Christian Academy and earned his HVAC Associates Degree from ITT Technical Institute in Bessemer, AL.

Mr. Scott is survived by his sister, Wanda Flynn of Sulligent, brothers, James Scott (Carol) of Winfield and Clarence Scott (Kathy) of Gardendale, nephews, Kevin Scott (Anastasia), Christopher Scott, niece, Lynette Holloway, great nephew, Mason Holloway and great niece, Addy Holloway and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marion Scott and Terry Scott, brother-in-law, Frasure Flynn, his grandparents and great grandparents.

Funeral services for Mr. Scott will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery near Sulligent. Bartley Craig Burleson better known as Craig, age 42 of Brilliant passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at his residence. Craig was born in Amory, Mississippi on January 17, 1980 to Tommy and Kathy Cummings Burleson. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and attended Brilliant High School. Craig worked with his father and brother at their family business, B & B Lumber Company. He enjoyed sports, hunting and being outdoors.

Craig is survived by his parents, Tommy and Kathy Burleson, brother, Kevin Burleson, grandparents, MaeLean Cummings, Junior and Annell Burleson, aunts, Teresa Burleson, Sharon Harris, Laure Mayfield (Richard), uncle, Tony Cummings (Jan), great aunt, Vernell Hulsey, and a host of cousins, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Burdis Cummings, great grandparents. Fred and Celie Lambert, Felicia Hulsey, Woodrow and Jessie Burleson, great aunts, Martha Sue Burleson, Jackie Burleson, Colene Farris, and great uncles, JC Burleson, Rex Burleson, Troy Lambert and Odis Lambert.

Funeral services for Craig will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brock Church of Christ Cemetery. Jerome Dodd will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Jessie Lee Chaniey, Jr., age 68, of Winfield passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama. Mr. Chaniey was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 4, 1953 to the late Jessie Lee Chaniey, Sr. and Marcelle Hamm Chaniey. Mr. Chaniey spent much of his life working with the Alabama Power Company where he later retired. He loved to crappie fish and was known to many as the “Crappie King. Jessie enjoyed playing basketball, softball, woodworking, gardening, working in his flower beds and was a huge Auburn football fan. Mr. Chaniey was a very caring person, he loved people and was a caretaker to a special friend.

Mr. Chaniey is survived by his wife, Debra Swanigan Chaniey, his sons, Kevin Chaniey and Jessie Lee Chaniey, III, “Three”, grandchildren, Malik, Malia, Dawson, Kaliah, and Miracle, brother, Terry Lee of Omaha, NE, sisters, Connie Lee of Flint, MI, Denise Lee, and Celistene Lee both of Gary, IN.

Mr. Chaniey was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandmother/godmother Mittie “Sweetie” Hamm.

A Celebration of life services for Mr. Chaniey will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. Rev. Floyd Rogers will be the officiating minister. The visitation for Jessie will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. The repast for the family will be held immediately following the service from the Miles Memorial Reception Hall at; 851 State Hwy 253 Winfield, AL 35594.
